will begin on November 8th and will be completed by December 13th

ALL athletes MUST pre-register before attending tryouts and
tryouts are MANDATORY to be selected for a team
Pre-payment of the tryout fee is $45 (by ET) and this is non-refundable,
if paying day of tryouts CASH or Cheque is accepted
On-site registration and payment is $50

About the upcoming Season
Raincity will be having open tryouts this upcoming season, along with some teams offering athletes early signing opportunities during the VBC Early Signing Period (Sept 1st to Oct 15th).

EARLY SIGNING INFORMATION
~ The Early Signing Period is used for age levels 15U – 18U
~ Early signing offers can be given at any time from September 1st to October 15th by Raincity Coaches
Some offers may come later in this time due to coaching / player decisions about team composition
~ Clubs are allowed to offer athletes, who were members of the club the previous season (2026 season)
~ Athletes who are early signed are not guaranteed to be placed on a specific team, they are signing with the Club
~ By accepting an early sign offer, athletes are committing to the Raincity Volleyball Club, and are guaranteed to be placed on a team for the 2027 season.
~ Athletes that early signed are not guaranteed playing time or specific team placement the open tryouts will help to determine final athlete placement on teams
~ Early signed athletes are expected to attend tryouts and to be identified to a specific team of their level while comparing all those athletes that are trying out for positions at that age group
OPEN TRYOUTS INFORMATION
Raincity will be having open tryouts for all teams from 12U to 18U
~ The Tentative Tryout dates have been set (above) - we are hoping there will not be any changes but please check back prior to your tryout date for any changes
~ The TBA for 16U to 18U tryouts will be set by the end of October once we have confirmations for gym times
~ ALL athletes that want to Tryout for Raincity Volleyball Club MUST register online.
~ Payment can be made via cash (onsite), cheque (onsite) or etransfer (proior to tryouts)
~ Late registrations (less than 24 hours before Tryout or onsite) will be charged an extra $10 for registration
~ Athletes need to be at tryouts 30 minutes prior to their allocated tryout time for checkin and preparation for tryout

About Tryouts for the 2027 season
The Season of Play dates for the upcoming season are:

12U/13U: November 8 - May 31, 2027

16U/17U/18U: December 6 - May 31, 2027
Clubs cannot run tryouts for an age category before the dates listed above!
To ensure that athletes are not pressured into accepting a position on a team, once an offer is made, all athletes have time to think about the offer, and to see if they receive offers from other clubs.
Athletes have until the following dates to decide on a club (called the Signing Dates):

12U/13U/14U: November 23, 2026

15U: November 20, 2026

16U/17U/18U: December 7, 2026
Offers made before the signing dates listed above, are valid until 6:00pm on the signing date. At 6:01pm on the signing date, clubs can rescind their offer and move on to the next person on the list.

This means that clubs and coaches cannot make an athlete tell them if they will accept a spot on their team on the spot, unless tryouts are held after the signing dates listed above.

If a player signs with a club before the signing date then informing the other clubs about an offer they have given you is a common courtesy so that they can offer a spot to another athlete on their list.
If an offer is made after the signing date, an athlete has a minimum of 24 hours to consider it
Clubs are only permitted to contact athletes and their families between 4:00-9:00pm on weekdays and between 8:00am-9:00pm on weekends until an athlete has accepted an offer to join the club.

Clubs can only offer a position on a team to someone who is registered in their tryout

If you accept an offer, you are committed to that club for the entire 2027 season.
